The Savannah Regional Police Command, through an intelligence-led operation, has arrested one person in connection with the robbery and murder of a mobile money vendor and another victim at Pwalugu in the Upper East Region.
The Savannah Regional Police Command has successfully arrested Nuhu Mumuni in connection with the robbery and murder of Benjamin Apuri, a mobile money vendor at Pwalugu in the Upper East Region.
On April 8, 2025, police officers apprehended Mumuni at his hideout in Mankarigu, a community in the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region, following an intelligence-led operation.
According to reports, Mumuni and his accomplices allegedly shot and killed Apuri on March 3, 2025, stealing an unspecified amount of money.
In a press statement released by the Savannah Regional Police Commander, C.O.P. Samuel Winful, the suspect, Nuhu Mumuni, is in the custody of the Savannah Regional Police Command and will be handed over to the Upper East Regional Police Command to face justice.
