The Ghana Education Service (GES) has been urged to reform the educational system by introducing methods that make the country’s education more practical.
Dr. Francis Essel Okyeahene, Director of Young Executive and Onua Francis International School, emphasized that GES should play a pivotal role in reforming the school curriculum, placing greater emphasis on practical experiences to produce students equipped to tackle the nation’s challenges.
“It is time we reformed the curriculum and take practicals more seriously in order to produce learners that will help solve the country’s problems,” Dr. Francis stated.
He further appealed for schools to encourage students to extend their learning beyond the classroom, enhancing their practical skills related to their studies.
Dr. Okyeahene added that practical education is essential for students to gain a deeper understanding of the concepts taught in classrooms.
He reiterated that transforming education to focus more on practical applications rather than theoretical knowledge will significantly improve the school curriculum and better prepare students for real-world challenges.
