One soldier dead, four injured in ghastly accident near Zebilla
One soldier has been confirmed dead in a ghastly accident at Saka near Zebilla on the Bawku – Bolgatanga highway.
Four others, who were travelling in the light armoured vehicle, are also battling for their lives.
The tragic incident occurred on February 22, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle with registration number 21GA39 was on escort duties to Bawku but lost control after the left back tyre dislodged while in motion.
This resulted in the vehicle somersaulting several times.
Before police personnel from Zebilla arrived at the scene, residents were helping to remove the trapped victims.
The police later evaluated the injured to the Zebilla District Hospital.

On October 16, 2024, a similar accident happened at Bazua in the Binduri District involving a military vehicle. One soldier died in that accident.
Ghana Armed Forces is yet to issue a statement over the tragic incident through an investigation into the cause of the crash.
