On average, salaries range between GH₵2,320 and GH₵6,550, with WASSCE recruits typically earning on the lower end compared to degree holders.



The salary varies based on rank, length of service, and allowances provided. Additionally, a risk allowance is a constant feature for all fire officers, ensuring recruits are adequately compensated for their high-risk duties.

Degree holders joining the GNFRS are expected to earn higher wages, with an average monthly salary of GH₵6,550.

The GNFRS has both senior and junior ranks. The lowest rank for junior officers is Fireman Recruit, while the highest in the service is Chief Fire Officer (CFO). Advancement through these ranks often leads to increased remuneration.
