Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has announced that the government is bringing back the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) to play a key role in managing education across Ghana.
He made this announcement during the launch of the Okaikwei South Public Schools renovation and upgrade project.
Speaking at the event, the minister expressed his excitement about the decision, saying it was made under President John Dramani Mahama's leadership.
Purpose of bringing back PTA
He stated that the reintroduction of PTAs aims to foster collaboration between parents and teachers, with the goal of improving learning outcomes and helping schools produce well-rounded, skilled individuals for the nation.
"I’m really pleased to declare that we’re bringing PTAs back into the fold of education management," he said. "This move will allow parents and teachers to work hand in hand, ensuring our schools provide the best possible education and develop the quality human capital our country needs."
The initiative emphasizes the government's commitment to enhancing partnerships within the education sector and improving the overall learning experience for students.
