A 15-year-old girl has gone missing in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of Ghana’s Central Region after reportedly testing positive for pregnancy.
The girl, identified as Nora Acquah, also known as Adwoa Akowaa, was last seen on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Kososan. Her family says she disappeared after a pregnancy test was secretly conducted on her.
Her mother, Maame Esi, told Kasapa News that Adwoa had been living with her aunt when she began noticing physical changes in her daughter.
“She could no longer fit into her school uniform, her movement changed, and her complexion appeared pale,” Maame Esi said.
Following her suspicions, she conducted a pregnancy test, which confirmed that Adwoa was positive.
According to her, she then instructed her daughter to identify the father of the unborn child before she returned from church.
However, upon her return, she discovered that Adwoa had packed her belongings and left without informing anyone of her whereabouts.
Adwoa’s aunt, who is also the queen mother (Obaa Hemaa) of the Kososan community, expressed shock at the situation.
“I noticed some changes in her behavior and even asked someone to speak to her, hoping she would tell the truth. I never expected this from a girl of school-going age,” said Nana Esi Nkrumah II.
She added that despite extensive searches, there has been no trace of the teenager for the past 10 days.
The family is appealing to the public, community members, and security agencies to help locate the missing girl.
It is advised that anyone with information regarding Adwoa Akowaa's whereabouts should kindly report to the nearest police station.
