The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), has announced a nationwide strike in response to the appointment of Samuel Adom Botchway as the Registrar of Births and Deaths Registry.
In a statement, the National Executive Council (NEC) of CLOGSAG stated his decision after a meeting to address concerns about the appointment of politically exposed persons in the civil service and local governments structure.
Following his official assumption of duty on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the association has announced that it has no option but to proceed with a nationwide strike.
CLOGSAG therefore decided to declare a nationwide strike starting on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
