UEW Announces Resit Exams for Level 400 CoE Students
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has announced special resit/supplementary examinations for all level 400 students of Colleges of Education who have failed papers to resit.
The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD) of the university made this announcement as part of efforts to ensure level 400 students pursuing 4-year degree programmes in the various colleges of education resit all subjects they have trailed before leaving school.
The Resit/Supplementary Examinations for Level 400 Students, according to the ITECPD of the university, aim at helping graduating students to clear all trailed subjects before their graduation.
This was contained in a letter dated, 16th January, 2025 and addressed to the 46 principals of the Colleges of Education in the country.This decision was also in line with Regulation 4.2.3 of the Undergraduate Students Handbook on Rules and Regulations.
Regulation 4.2.3 states that “Any level 400 student who trails course(s) shall be given the opportunity to resit the trailed courses before graduation.”
All affected students are to note that the special resit and supplementary examinations have already been scheduled from Monday, February 3, 2025, to Friday, February 7, 2025.
Key directives include:
- Course instructors are to construct test items and submit them to the assessment officers or vice principals of the respective colleges.
- Assessment Officers or Vice Principals are to forward test items with marking schemes and the supplementary examination timetable to ITECPD by Thursday, January 28, 2025.
- Assessment Officers should coordinate with college management to conduct the resit/supplementary examinations.
- Lecturers handling the courses are to mark the scripts and submit the scores to the assessment officers, who will then forward them to ITECPD by February 13, 2025.
- Lecturers should indicate the academic year, level, and semester of the courses for proper upload of results into the Online Student Information System (OSIS).
- Students are required to pay for their resit papers.
- The cost of conducting the resit examinations will be covered by the fees paid by the students.
ITECPD emphasize on all Colleges of Education affiliated with the University to adhere to these guidelines for a smooth, res-it examination process for all stakeholders involved.
