The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has held the first Students' Chaplaincy Council (SCC) service for the 2024/2025 academic year at the Royal Parade Grounds.
The service, which was under the theme: "Don't Play with Your Hair," was inspired by Judges 16:19.
The service featured ministrations from the Mass Choir and captivating drama and dance performances by the Mass Drama group.
The Protestant Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Joseph Acheampong, delivering the sermon, admonished them to remain steadfast in their faith and to use their gifts to honor God.
"Don't be intoxicated, be vigilant, and know the associations you involve yourself with. Watch your friends and where they are taking you," he said.
He further urged the students, particularly the freshers, to take responsibility for their actions.
"This is the first time no housemaster will chase you to go to class. You are supposed to take responsibility for yourself here," he said.
The service was graced by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Asamoah; the Director of the Student Affairs (DoSA), Professor Marian Asantewah Nkansah; the Chairperson of the KNUST Wellness Committee, Professor Ibok Oduro; and the Student Representative Council (SRC).
