Former chief of Akrafo Kokobeng shot dead by unknown assailant

Former chief of Akrafo Kokobeng, a community in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti region, has been shot dead in front of his house by an unknown assailant.

According to eyewitness accounts, Nana Okofrobuo Boateng stepped out to buy food but was shot while entering his house around 11:00 pm on Wednesday.

Family members of the deceased suspect he might have been killed by persons who hated him for no apparent reason.

According to the residents of Akrafo Kokobeng, the incident raises security concerns and calls for increased policing of the area.

However, the police at the Bohyen District Command have conducted preliminary investigations at the crime scene, while the deceased’s body has been deposited at a morgue.
