Biography:
Julypinto, born Kodwo Otoo, is a talented singer-songwriter and one of Ghana’s rising stars in the music scene. His journey in music began at a young age, starting with a passion for music at 11, and further cultivated during his secondary school years when he began writing songs. However, he officially emerged as a professional artist in 2017 with his politically conscious reggae single Right to Information. This track marked the start of his career, showcasing his ability to blend powerful messages with captivating rhythms.
Since then, Julypinto has continued to experiment with different genres, releasing a variety of tracks that showcase his versatility. Some of his notable songs include Baby Girl, a lively dancehall tune; Kasa Kasa, an upbeat Afrobeat song; and Beauty Mirror, a fresh Afrobeat track that draws inspiration from the charisma of a beautiful girl who garners attention, much like football legend Messi does on the pitch.
Born and raised in Abakrampa, in the heart of Ghana’s Central Region, Julypinto received his primary and junior high school education at Ghateco Preparatory School in Koforidua and completed his secondary education at Ghana National College in Cape Coast. He believes that education is an ongoing process, and every experience in life offers an opportunity for learning and growth.
