On Friday, November 29, 2024, three people, including a schoolgirl, have tragically lost their lives in Bawku following a gunfight.
This brings the death toll in the area to 32 after another individual was killed just two days earlier.
The violence escalated around the Gingande-Zongo area, where the exchange of gunfire continued from midnight until 1 PM, with reports indicating that several houses were also set on fire.
In addition to the fatalities, many others have sustained varying degrees of gunshot wounds.
