The management of the University for Development Studies (UDS) has postponed the re-opening date of the 2024/2025 academic year.
The University, in an official announcement signed and dated September 25, 2024, informed all freshmen and continuing students and the general public that the reopening date for the 2024/2025 academic year, which was slated for September 27, 2024, has been postponed indefinitely.
Stating the reason behind the postponement of the re-opening date, the notice indicated that “This is due to the ongoing industrial action by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), the Senior Staff Association Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), and the Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union of the Trade Union Congress (TEWU-TUC) of public universities, which has affected academic service delivery in the university.”
The notice further added that “All students and the general public will be informed about subsequent arrangements once the industrial action has been called off.”
