GES gives directive to Regional Directors of Education to reverse all unauthorized transfers (READ MORE...)

Dr Eric Nkansah

Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed all Regional Directors of Education to reverse all unauthorized transfers within their jurisdiction of control.

According to Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, Deputy Director-General (Q&A) for Director General, in an official statement release signed, and dated September 11, 2024, it was stated that “it has come to the notice of the management of Ghana Education Service (GES) that several teachers have been transferred within the various districts without appropriate approval or consultation with the respective Regional Directors of Education.”

The release further indicated that the “unapproved transfers of teachers do not only disrupt the educational process but also undermine the established protocols designed to ensure that such transfers are done in the best interest of both teachers and students.”

However, “management of GES has directed all Regional Directors of Education to ensure that all Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education within their jurisdiction reverse all unauthorized transfers with immediate effect and cease further unapproved transfers of teachers within the districts until further notice from management.”
