The Electoral Commission of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has officially released the comprehensive vetting results for the 2023/2024 Students’ Representative Council (SRC) elections.

The 2023/2024 SRC elections at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have seen a range of candidates qualifying through the vetting process for various positions. Here are some key details:

SRC President Aspirants:

The competition for the SRC President position was intense, with seven candidates undergoing the vetting process. Five candidates have successfully qualified, one disqualified 

1. Christabel Adjoa Foriwaa Dougan: 54.64%

2. Jeffery Agyapong: 65.14%

3. Godwin Francis Asare: 57.07%

4. Mumin Shafawu Abdul: 60.36%

5. Kumah Jacob Elikplim Alemata: 53.14%

Mulmuni Abugri Abusang and Kingsley Kweku Ahiawor were disqualified.

SRC General Secretary Aspirants:

Three aspirants competed for the General Secretary position, and all three successfully passed the vetting process:

1. Lilian Adzo Tofa: 59.79%

2. Vanessa Djadou: 57.57%

3. Benita Talata Zupibig: 63.83%

SRC Financial Secretary Aspirants:

The position of Financial Secretary three candidates vying for the role, with two of them qualifying:

1. Iddrisu Umar: 66.50%

2. Jeffery Yiadom Gyasi: 51.79%

Emmanuel Annor Ansah Disqualified.

SRC Treasurer Aspirants:

Two candidates contended for the treasurer position, with the following outcome:

1. Annet Boateng: 61.07% (qualified)

2. Ezekiel Basoah Owusu, disqualified

Local NUGS President Aspirants:

Three candidates vied for the position of local NUGS president, all qualified:

1. Dorcas Katsekpor: 51.93%

2. Francis Asare: 53.79%

3. Papa Arhin Essilfie: 55.50%

Local NUGS Secretary Aspirants:

The Local NUGS Secretary position three candidates, with two qualifying:

1. Tirzah Kessewaa Afua: 50.50% (qualified)

2. Jonathan Miah Asiedu: 57.36% (qualified)

Vida Adutwumwaa Mensah Disqualified.

Local NUGS Treasurer Aspirants:

The treasurer role two candidates, with one qualifying:

1. Ama Bosompemaa Boampong: 56.64% (qualified)

Naomi Y. Ankomah Akompong was disqualified.

Local NUGS Women's Commissioner Aspirants:

Four candidates competed for the Women’s Commissioner position, with two qualifying:

1. Constancia Afi Coffie: 62.57%

2. Hamdyia Dauda: 53.36%

Faridatu Dauda and Fuseina Issah Disqualified.

SRC Sports and Games Secretary Aspirants:

Two candidates competed for the Sports and Games Secretary position.

1. Alidu Yakubu Avokpo: 55.93% (qualified)

2. Eric Akwei Brown: 46.07% (disqualified)

 SRC Sports and Games Treasurer Aspirants:

One candidate, Leticia Fafanyo Woka, qualified for the Sports and Games Treasurer position with a score of 51.00%.

These are several of the candidates who have successfully passed the vetting process. Each position saw a few disqualifications as well, ensuring that the competition moving forward will be among those who met the required standards during vetting.

Fairness and transparency were given top priority during the UEW SRC elections 2023/2024 vetting process. Now that the vetting results have been made public, the eligible candidates can advance in their campaigns, and the student body can get ready to elect their new leaders.
