The initial deadline was August 21, 2024, but the body has said that the new deadline, August 30, 2024, is to enable ample time for applicants to complete the self-posting process and submit their appointment letters.
Self-Posting Module for GES The new self-posting module was launched by the Ghana Education Service (GES) with the intention of expediting the recruitment process for the initial class of 2022 degree holders from public education colleges.
However, the new module is to allow the graduates to select their preferred region, district, and school for their posting via the GES portal, which began operating on July 31, 2024. The Director-General of the GES, Dr. Eric Nkansah, made this known during a press briefing in Accra in July.
The Director-General of the GES announced on May 11, 2024, that the Service had extended an invitation to apply for qualified, trained teachers who had completed their first degree at a public college of education.
12,784 of the 21,010 applications that were received were found to be qualified. The GES self-posting module, according to Dr. Nkansah, was developed to make sure that recently certified teachers were placed in settings where they could successfully communicate in the local language, thereby enhancing the teaching and learning environment.
For those who have not been able to go through the self-posting process until now, the new deadline affords them a bit more time to put things together.
The extended deadline gives people who were unable to go through the self-posting process up until now a few additional days to wrap up things.
