"Peace Ride" bicycle event
Zebilla will host a unique cycling event known as the “Zebilla Peace Ride.” On August 10, 2024, organized by Keke Cycling Connect in collaboration with African Event Consult,.
Zebilla Primary School will be the starting point of the Peace Ride, while the Zebilla District Hospital will be the finish line.
According to James Kumbeni in an interview with A1 Radio, The funds that are raised at the event will help hospital patients who are having financial difficulties paying their outstanding medical bills. He said, "We are trying to raise funds to help people who are forced to stay in the hospital because they are unable to pay their medical bills."
In addition, Mr. Kumbeni said that the purpose of the event is to use the appeal of recreational activities such as cycling to foster harmony among the community. "My colleagues and I have been considering ways to foster community in and around Zebilla, which is why we decided to organize this cycling event. The purpose is to bring people together through cycling's fun and sporting aspects.
He, however, mentioned that the ride will make a subsequent stop in Bawku to continue their mission of social impact through cycling.
Mr. Kumbeni emphasizes that local leaders, including the Peace Council, chiefs, and assemblies, have been invited to participate and discuss the importance of peace in the area.
