UE/R: Curfew Hours Review in Bawku
The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, has, on the advice of the Upper East Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument, reviewed the curfew hours imposed on Bawku Municipality and its environs in the Upper East Region from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. effective Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
In addition, the government has urged the local populace, including youth, opinion leaders, chiefs, and elders, to utilize non-violent methods to put their efforts into maintaining peace while also exercising patience when faced with challenges.
In this regard, there is a total ban on all persons in Bawku and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapon.
According to the Interior Ministry, any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
