The ECG Training Centre has announced the commencement of its novelle Youth Apprenticeship Programme, an innovative weekend training initiative starting June 2024.
This program is designed to equip young Ghanaians aged 16 to 25 with essential skills in electrical engineering and energy management, foster self-employment, and support the state’s mission to reduce youth unemployment.
The Youth Apprenticeship Programme is strategically developed to provide hands-on training and real-world experience in electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, and smart grid applications.
By focusing on practical skills and industry knowledge, the program aims to prepare participants not only to enter the workforce but to innovate within it, potentially starting their own businesses in the energy sector.
Program Details:
Start Period: June 2024
Duration: Twelve (12) weekends
Location: ECG Training Centre, Tema Community 10 Junction
Eligibility: Young persons aged sixteen (16) to twenty-five (25).
The program is a direct response to the growing need for job creation and skill development among Ghana’s youth. With rising unemployment rates affecting young individuals across the nation, the ECG Training Centre is stepping forward to offer a solution that not only addresses immediate employment needs but also builds a foundation for sustainable development and innovation in one of Ghana's most critical sectors.

According to the press released states: “Our Youth Apprenticeship Programme is not just about teaching young people to be electricians; but it’s about empowering them to be pioneers of their future and of the energy sector.”

However, participants in the program will benefit from the expertise of seasoned professionals and access to state-of-the-art facilities at the ECG Training Centre.
After completion, participants will receive a certificate, support for entrepreneurial ventures, and skills for the job market within the sector.
The ECG Training Centre invites interested applicants to apply for the Youth Apprenticeship Program beginning in June 2024.
