University Entrance (UEW)
The management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has released the Undergraduate Admission Form for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Interested candidates should kindly follow the steps below on how to apply.

Applications are invited from qualified applicants for admission at the University of Education, Winneba for the 2024/2025 academic year. Applications are open for all programs.
Applicants in their final year who have yet to write their final examinations (WAEC) may also apply and indicate “AWAITING RESULT” under the examination results section of the application form.
Admission Entry Requirements
These entry requirements are to be met in addition to the other programme-specific requirements.
BACHELOR PROGRAMMES
Senior High School (SHS) Certificate Holders
Must have at least six (6) WASSCE credit passes (A1-C6), including three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies, as well as
Three (3) electives in relevant subjects with a total aggregate of 36 or better.
Must also satisfy the special programme requirement(s) for the program(s) chosen.
School Certificate/GCE Holders
Five (5) credits at GCE “O” Level, including English Language and Mathematics as well as
Two (2) “A” level passes other than the general paper in relevant subjects
Diploma Holders
Must possess a Higher National Diploma or its equivalence from a previous field or area of study.
Full-time applicants may pass an interview.
DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Diploma in Basic Education
1. WASSCE Entry Requirement
Applicants must have credit passes (A1-C6) in five (5) subjects, comprising three (3) core subjects, including English language and mathematics, and two (2) elective subjects relevant to the programme chosen.
2. SSSCE Entry Requirement
Applicants must have credits (A-D) in five (5) subjects, comprising three (3) core subjects, including English language and mathematics, and two (2) elective subjects relevant to the program chosen.
OTHER DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES ENTRY REQUIREMENT
1. WASSCE Entry Requirement
Six passes (A1–DD7) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; and
Must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
2. SSSCE Entry Requirement
Six passes (A-D) in all subjects, including English language and mathematics; and
At least three (3) of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization.
MATURE APPLICANTS
Be twenty-five (25) years of age by October 31, 2024 (a proof of age with documents such as a birth certificate, Ghana Card, Social Security and National Insurance Trust Card, and passport would be required).
Pass an entrance examination in the General Aptitude Test (GAT) and Subject Area Test (SAT) to be organized by the university. However, mature applicants seeking admission to pursue special education would also be required to pass another SAT.
How to Apply for UEW Undergraduate Admissions
To complete your application successfully, ensure you have a valid email address, mobile phone number, and soft copies of your results slip or transcripts, certificates, passport picture, birth certificate (for mature applicants only), and other documents necessary to support your application.
Log on to www.uew.edu.gh/admissions and select your preferred entry mode to study at the university: regular/fulltime, sandwich, distance, and postgraduate.
Once you have decided on your entry mode, it is time to buy your application form. There are three options available to conveniently buy a form:
Visit the website at www.uew.edu.gh/admissions to buy forms online through MTN, VodaCash, and AirtelTigo mobile money platforms.
Use the short code *887*9# to buy a form on all mobile networks in Ghana.

Once you have your PIN, click Apply Now, then enter your PIN. Where you have a serial and a PIN, enter them as required to progress to the application form.
Proceed to enter your personal details, educational history, results and qualifications, program choice, and attach your supporting documents, then submit the application form. You will receive a notification in your email and by text message on your phone when you successfully complete the application form.
Look out for the Progress ID to enable you to continue filling out the application form, from which point you decide to leave the application before final submission.
Preview the form to ensure all the details provided are accurate, and submit. You would then receive a notification of the successful completion of your application in your email and text message.

A fee-paying facility is available to applicants who do not meet the competitive selection cut-offs but satisfy the minimum University requirements.
