GNAT Deducts Double Dues From Teachers Salaries, February 2024.

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has deducted double dues from teachers’ February 2024 salaries.

According to a confidential payslip that was released to the public, the association unfairly deducted dues from members' salaries twice in February 2024.

However, this was noticed by teachers when the February 2024 payslip was made available by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD).

According to the payslip, the Association deducted GH¢58.44 as dues and made another deduction of GH¢53.57 for the same purpose.

It’s unclear why the association made this decision without engaging the teachers (members of GNAT).

However, the Association also made a compulsory deduction of GH¢100.00 (an increment of the base deduction by GH¢50) for Teachers Mutual Fund dues without any authorization from some members.

Check out the DEDUCTION MADE BY GNAT FOR FEBRUARY 2024

1. Ghana National Association of Teachers dues: GH¢58.44

2. GNAT Cancer Fund: GH¢5.00

3. Teachers Mutual Fund Dues: GH¢100

4. Ghana National Association of Teachers dues: GH¢53.57

The teachers are therefore calling on the leadership of the Association, led by Mr. Thomas Musah Tanko, GNAT Secretary, and Rev. Isaac Isaac, GNAT President, to immediately revert the payment with immediate effect.
