Prof. Emmanuel Osei Sarpong, Ag. Dean, Faculty of Health, Allied Sciences, and Home Economics Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been named as the new Coordinator for the West Africa Zone by the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Sports, and Dance (ICHPER-SD).
Professor Sarpong, who was recently chosen Coordinator, has been given the crucial responsibility of leading ICHPER-SD programs in the West Africa Zone. This entails leading the organization's actions as well as encouraging professional colleagues in the area to participate actively.
One of the key responsibilities assigned to Professor Sarpong is to promote and assist in the establishment of ICHPER-SD branches in countries that fall under his authority. It is hoped that this move would strengthen the professional network in the West Africa Zone that is committed to promoting health, physical education, sports, and dance.

Prof. Emmanuel Osei Sarpong is a distinguished professional in the field of education, an accomplished exercise scientist, a certified football coach, and a recognized physical fitness instructor. His academic journey culminated in the attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Human Kinetics (Specialization in Sports and Exercise Physiology) from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria.
Presently, Prof. Sarpong holds the position of acting dean within the Faculty of Health, Allied Sciences, and Home Economics Education. Notably, he serves as Ghana's Ambassador to the International Trainers Course (ITK), a prestigious postgraduate program in sports medicine at the University of Leipzig in Germany. This role involves mentoring and training sports coaches and administrators to excel in their respective fields.
