The government's funding of payment to settle arrears on allowances for recently completed National Service Scheme (NSS) personnel has been confirmed by the NSS Management.
The arrears from January 2023 to May 2023 are supposed to be covered by the payments. The NSS's Executive Director, Osei Assibey Antwi, signed a press release announcing the information.
According to the release, "the arrears would therefore be paid by the close of Friday, December 8, 2023."
The arrears that accumulated between January 2023 and May 2023 will be paid off. On the other hand, June 2023 arrears and October 2023 allowances will be paid subsequently.
As per NSS, "Management would like to thank service personnel for their understanding when these allowances were delayed in being paid, and would like to reassure them that every effort is being made to ensure they receive their remaining allowances on time."
