University student commits suicide by hanging himself on a tree at the school farm and leaving a note in his hostel.
In the last few years, there has been an increase in the number of university students committing suicide. Several reasons have been found, including family disputes, mental illness, depression, and strained relationships among students.
A 19-year-old first-year student at the University of Nairobi on Wednesday evening committed suicide by hanging himself.
In the Kabete area, at the university farm, his body was discovered hanging from a tree.
According to the Nairobi Police Chief, who confirmed the incident that evening, the student left a suicide note in his room. The student wrote a note to his parents, which was discovered on the table. "The student bid farewell to his parents".
Following the processing of the scene, the body was taken to the morgue for a postmortem.
The head of police advised parents to keep an eye on their kids and be aware of their circumstances. It is the duty of parents to assist their children in accepting this illness, to seek the advice of specialists, and to take them for regular medical attention. A great number of people end up taking their own lives as a result of hardships they face in life.
