Five persons have been taken into custody by Nkhotakota police on suspicion of killing 22-year-old Saidi Nkhumbayapalasa in a mob justice incident.
Paul Malimwe, the public relations officer (P.R.O) at Nkhotakota Police Station, verified the development in a news interview.
According to the report, Malimwe, Nkhumbayapalasa, the man was allegedly killed for stealing a mobile phone in Kapongola Village in the district.
However, he said there are three male and two female suspects: Mike Chithumba, 33, Samson Bizwick, 21, Benitala Malandi, 41, Eveles Esau, 46, and Chikumbutso Chithumba, 30.
Currently, they suspects have been charged for the murder
