Man allegedly beats his mother-in-law to pulp over her refusal to support his relationship with his daughter.
In Peki, in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region, a man is said to have beaten his mother-in-law to a pulp because she refused to allow him to have a relationship with her daughter.
Police have not revealed the identify of the an attacker, who carried out the act because he was unable to understand the mother-in-law's disapproval of his relationship with her daughter.
The mother-in-law suffered serious injuries to her face, head, and other body parts as a result of the attack.
The police have been notified of the event that occurred in the Volta region, but the victim's family publicly expressed their dismay with the way the case is being handled and has threatened to take the matter to a higher level.
The victim, whose financial circumstances prevent her from affording legal representation, has called the case to court and is reaching out to any attorney who can help her through the legal process.
Following the news, Godwin A. Apullah, a radio host at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Nyankpala, commented, "The first call I missed very early this morning was from a relative of the lady in this picture." She was assaulted by her daughter's boyfriend; that is the reason she is in the hospital right now. This is a result of the mother's inability to provide support for her daughter's relationship and engagement with the man.
The case was reported to the police by the older daughter, and now it is before the court; however, due of the man's connections to the police, the case becomes meaningless, and the family cannot afford to hire a lawyer.
