Ghana is preparing to face Comoros in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday at 4 p.m. Both teams currently share three points each after securing victories in the opening round of matches in Group I.
Inaki Williams' a last-minute gave Ghana a close 1-0 victory over Madagascar, and the Comoros used home advantage to defeat the Central African Republic 4-2 in Moroni.
After the Islanders defeated Ghana 3-2 in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana was eliminated from the competition. It was a recent and remarkable victory.
Chris Hughton, the coach of Ghana, has led the country to victory in competitive games ever since replacing Otto Addo. Despite having three victories at home, he has not yet managed to win away from home, as he drew with both Madagascar and Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches. Hughton will need to make adjustments to his backline because of Daniel Amartey's injury. He can choose from a number of possibilities, though.
Baba Idrissu, Samed Salis, Majeed Ashimeru, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, and Mohammed Kudus are among the players in the Ghanaian team. After scoring his first goal for his country against Madagascar, Inaki Williams is intent to contribute to seeing the team succeed.
In three World Cup qualifying matches, Comoros, under the coaching of Stefano Cusin, has shown potential. They have defeated Cape Verde and Central African Republic in addition to drawing with Zambia.
Meanwhile, the match between Ghana and Comoros is scheduled to take place at the Omnisports Sports Stadium in Moroni on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
