At Atwima Techiman in the Ashanti Region, a old man, thought to be in his seventies, hanged himself.
On Friday, November 24, 2023, the person who died, identified as Nana Boakye Frimpong, was discovered hanging on a mango tree.
According to a police record that the newspaper was able to view, the old man's lifeless body has subsequently been placed in a morgue while a police investigation is being carried out.
However, the police said that one Clement Alepo of Atwima Techiman and his colleagues saw the deceased and reported the case to the police at Denchemouso.
"He called Denchemouso Station and reported that he and his colleagues saw an old adult kneeling under a tree at about 0520 hours on the same day."
According to the police report, "an elderly male adult who was later identified as Nana Boakye Frimpong was found dead by hanging on a mango tree when police arrived at the scene."
However, the police discovered a yellow sponge tied to the deceased's neck and a mango tree branch. They also noted that the deceased's tongue was slightly visible.
With the police documents, "Coroner's forms is being prepared for the information of the District Coroner and autopsy of the body."
