A suspected'sakawa boy’ has been arrested and handed over to the police after his failed attempt to collect used sanitary pads for his rituals.
The 25-year-old suspect (name withheld) was arrested in Agona Swedru by the teachers of Awutu Obrachire Secondary Technical School, who handed him over to Bawjiase District Police Command.
According to the details of the incident, the suspect approached a female student, gave her GHC100, and requested that she package used sanitary pads for him. The student told her teacher about the encounter.
The teacher instructed the student to call the suspect and let him know she had packaged some of the used pads and that he should come get them in order to catch him.
The suspect answered the call and showed up where the student had requested he meet her.
He was attacked upon arriving and then taken into custody before being handed over to the police.
After the arrest that, the suspect have been buying sanitary pads from people for sometime now.
The police are currently investigating the matter.
