A 30-year-old herbalist named James Vivor, also known as Gaddafi, has been remanded into prison detention by the Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honor Abass Abubakari Adams for causing harm to a woman named Rukaya Hussien with a machete.

James Vivor, the accused, is anticipated to reappear on October 16, 2023, while the investigation continues.

The victim is currently in serious condition at the hospital in Koforidua, according to Inspector Samuel Owusu, the prosecution officer, which is why the prosecution is pleading with the court to remand the accused.

According to the statement from the prosecution, the accused James Vivor is a herbalist who lives in Krofofrom, and the complainant Gado Adams is a mechanic who works at Old Zongo-Asamankese.

However, stated Rakia Hussein, the sister of the complainant, was traveling from Old Zongo to Beposo to visit her boyfriend Malaiki on Sunday, September 10, at around 9:30 p.m. She took a shortcut through a plantain farm close to the Assemblies of God Church, where the accused attacked her with a machete, inflicting deep machete wounds on her right arm and left leg before leaving her to bleed to death.

The victim yelled for help, and some bystanders came to her aid and sent her to Asamankese Hospital for treatment. However, because of the seriousness of the injury, she was eventually referred to Koforidua.

Police received a report. The victim is currently in serious condition at Koforidua Regional Hospital after intelligence on September 11, 23, led to the accused's arrest in Krofofrom.
