The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released a proposed academic calendar for basic schools for the 2023–2024 academic year.
This recommended academic calendar spans 38 weeks for the three terms.
The first term will run for 12 weeks, starting on October 3, 2023, and ending on December 21, 2023. This marks the beginning of the academic year for basic schools.
With regards to the scheduled calendar following a short break, the second term will start on January 9, 2024, and continue for 14 weeks, ending on April 11, 2024. Students will be busy with their studies during this period.
However, the third term will run for 12 weeks, from May 7 to July 25, 2024. This term will end the academic year for basic schools.
To ensure a smooth and successful academic year for the students, parents, stakeholders, and other concerned individuals are advised to take note of these dates.
