Military Men Arrest 5 Suspects After Violent Attack At Bawku
A military taskforce at Bawku, located in the Upper East Region of Ghana, has apprehended five civilians in connection with a violent attack that occurred on Saturday.
One person was killed in the event, while three others were seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment at Presbyterian Hospital.
The suspects have been identified as Alhassan Abu (52), Salam Arafat (22), Kasum Jamal (16), Nasiru (31), and Issah
Following a special intelligence operation, they were apprehended at their hideout.
The incident occurred shortly after Col. Antwi Awua Darkwa, Commanding Officer of the Airborne Force at Tamale's Barwah Barracks, called on various sections of the Upper East Region to lay down their guns and foster peace.
Col. Darkwa also pleaded for peace between the Mamprusi and Kusasi communities, which have a long history of feuding.
The suspects' arrests are part of measures to maintain law and order and safeguard the safety of inhabitants in the area.
The intervention of the military taskforce aims to avoid additional violence and give the local population with a sense of security.
