KNUST 2023/2024 Academic Year: An Update on the Resumption Date
We recognize that recent West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) scheduling changes have prompted questions and concerns concerning the start of the 2023/2024 academic year at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has stated that the WASSCE 2023 examination will be taken later than usual. This change in the examination schedule will have an impact on the timelines for processing and releasing the WASSCE results.
The impact on the 2023/2024 Academic Year
Students will not be returning to school this year to begin the 2023/2024 academic year as a result of these adjustments. Instead, the academic year is now expected to begin in January 2024.
We understand that this may come as unexpectedly to many, especially those eager to begin or continue their academic career at KNUST. However, we believe that this is the greatest approach to ensure the fairness and integrity of the admissions process, as well as to give all prospective students an equal opportunity.
While we understand that this change may cause some inconvenience, please know that we are working hard to ensure a smooth transition. The exact resuming date has yet to be determined by KNUST Management. We will notify all students and employees as soon as a date is determined.
KNUST appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. We are committed to maintaining the highest educational standards, and we think that this decision, while challenging, is in the best interests of our academic community.
