Alhassan Abdul- Rauf, a young promising and brilliant juvenile player of Soccer Heroes Fc at Bole, has been hospitalized and is currently receiving treatment after his father dragged him from the field of play and seriously injured him.
Alhassan Abdul- Rauf is an under-13 soccer player, according to an eyewitness.
The incident occurred during a league game between his team, Bole Soccer Heroes fc, and Bole Peace FC on August 13, 2023, at Kurabaso Park in Bole, during which Abdul- Rauf was asked to stop playing, which the young boy did, only for the father to begin slapping, beating, lifting, and throwing the young player down, according to an eyewitness.
People rushed to save the boy, but his outraged father refused to stop attacking the boy, who suddenly remained unconscious.
While beating the young player, the father kept repeating that it was his son and that no one should attempt to stop him, not even the presence of some elderly men and Chiefs.
The child was then taken unconscious to the Bole District Hospital, where he was quickly tended to by the nurses on duty.
After regaining consciousness, Alhassan Abdul- Rauf revealed that everything happened because his father wanted him to go to 'Mankaranta' instead of playing football.
He went on to say that he aims to be a player and one day represent Ghana internationally.
The Bole District football community is paying honor to this young player and hopes that the Ghana Football Association and human rights organizations would take up this case.
