Two students of Wa Technical Institute have been arrested and detained after being accused of attacking a housemaster and another student.
According to reports, the housemaster reprimanded 19-year-old Yussif Mudasshir for dressing poorly.
Israel Musah Frinko, the housemaster, stated that the student initially consented to changing his clothes but then refused.
"I went up to him and told him to get dressed like a normal student, and he obliged. I held his shirt and asked him to go quickly so I wouldn't have to wait for him to enter the yard after he resisted.
"All he said was that he didn't like what I was doing, to which I responded that all I was asking was that you leave and change. He were walking to the unpaved floor as we were still moving along the pavement blocks. I was never aware of his intention.
He bent down, stood up, and threw a stone at me. We took him to the master in charge of discipline because he said, "I felt pain, and blood was coming out of my ear and my nose."
However the second student is reported to be an accomplice and a bosom friend of Yussif Mudasshir, who also came to the scene when the incident happened.
According to the Information gathered indicated that Yussif’s friend was resisting arrest when the police arrived, and while doing that, he used scissors to injure one of the students.
Teachers of the institution have since decided to boycott examination invigilation, saying that the school environment has become unsafe, and are demanding the expulsion of the two students.
