UW/R: A female student at Wa Technical Institute was asked to go home until further notice.
Some students of Wa Technical Institute in the Wa Municipality of Upper West Region have been discharged to go home at about 4 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023.
An undisclosed number of students have been rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment.
Some students reportedly collapsed during class sessions and at dormitories.
Currently, only boys have been left behind while efforts are in place to get to the root of the matter.
Some male students spoke to the Upper West Media Team and indicated that they will not be joining their colleagues, the girls, home until further notice, but classes will be on hold temporarily until they return.
Management of the Ghana TVET Service is still quiet over the matter.
