The administration of St. Mary’s Girls SHS in Asante Akyem Central has raised concern about recent pregnancy reports of numerous students, which have harmed the institution’s image.
According to a recent study, 15 students are pregnant, including four final-year students, 10 second-year students, and one newly accepted student who has been proven pregnant.
Ms. Alice Martha Adjei, the school’s headmistress, in an interview with Kessben FM’s Asumadu Dakwah, decried the situation and advised these students to stay home and return to school once they had delivered their kids.
She also linked the issue to various challenges that the school had faced since its inception, such as the non-fence of the school, encroachment on school grounds, and so on, and asked for help in fencing the school to prevent students from utilizing the campus as a route.
