There are so many mistakes we always commit when praying; however, this could be the main point or reason why our prayers are being answered by the Almighty God.
In this case, we will be looking at these common errors or mistakes during our prayer time.
These are some key reasons listed below:
1. Only praying to God when we need something or a favor
Devoting yourself continuously to prayer will draw you closer to God and build your relationship with him. Day in and day out in our lives, we need God; always let's have a continual conversation with him.
When we do this, we will be able to build a strong relationship with God. By doing this, anytime you call him, he will answer you.
2. When drawing attention to ourselves
Jesus, in his sermon on the mount, base on about prayer to people also not to use our prayers to show off others or to obtained a certain standard of prayer.
However, he said that if we focus so much on other people paying attention to our prayers, we will end up praying to them rather than Almighty God.
3. Making a Demand
We know that in him (God) all things are possible, but that doesn't necessarily means that all our prayers will be answered the way we want them to be.
My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways. however, declares the Lord. As the heaven is higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. [Isaiah 55:8-9]
4. Believing or having the mindset that God cannot answer our prayers
In our lives, we need to be careful or aware that God knows the best. We don't stop believing in his ability to actually answer our prayers. We are always called to pray in faith, and in the holy Bible, God has shown us so many examples of his power to heal the sick, power to provide, power to comfort, raise people from the dead, and so on.
The only thing is to trust in him and pray.
5. Comparing our prayers to other people's prayers
Each person should be able to express their prayers and faith to God. As we stated earlier, we should be praying to God, not other people.
So in this case, keep your mind focused on all that you are saying to God, not the way people perceived your prayers.
6. A prayer to anyone other than God
As Christians, we believe in one God; in the Bible, he says he is the only and only one we should be calling upon to answer our prayers; he is the one that is working for our good, or in terms of challenges. Because in him, with him, and through him all things are possible for us.
However, we should put our trust in him.
