According to reports, Malama Hauwa, a 17-year-old girl, lost her hand and leg as a result of her husband's knife attack on her in Kebbi, in the northwest of Nigeria.
A teenage girl, Malama Hauwa Mohammed, 17, has lost her limbs. This led to an attack by her husband at their residence in Kebbi State.
According to the victim, she was forced to marry her husband; she is a truant and does not stay at home. She recounted that, on the day of the attack, her husband arrived home with a machete and attacked her without a reason. Mrs. Hauwa uncovered this for members of the state's technical working group on gender-based violence when they paid her a visit at the federal medical center at Kebbi, where she is still undergoing treatment.
Officials of the state government assured her that the incident has already been reported to the police, who will soon arrest the culprit.
