Hearts of Oak beat Berekum Chelsea thanks to late goals

Cameroonian forward Albert Eonde made his debut for Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak earned a crucial 3-1 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The game was marked by a flurry of goals, all of which were scored after the 80th minute.

Defender Zakaria Fuseini scored an unfortunate own goal in the 82nd minute, giving Hearts of Oak the lead. This was followed by Benjamin York’s goal in the 87th minute, which doubled Hearts of Oak's lead.

Berekum Chelsea managed to pull one back through forward Kusi Pandrous in the 92nd minute, but their efforts were in vain as Victor Aidoo sealed the win for Hearts of Oak with the third goal in the 93rd minute.

The victory for Hearts of Oak brought an end to a two-game winless run that saw them drop out of the top four in the standings.

With the win, Hearts of Oak are now back in second place, but they could still potentially lose their place depending on the outcome of other matches on Sunday.
