However, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the minister of education, is optimistic that 2023 would be an exciting year for the education sector because numerous initiatives are being launched.
He pointed out that the government is actively striving to reform schools in villages and towns all throughout the nation by citing some of the projects his organization is coming up with.
Speaking to reporters in the Bosomtwe Constituency, the minister—who is also the local MP—added that in addition to the STEM fields of study, which are anticipated to see significant growth this year, the creative arts education field would also receive the necessary attention.
He continued by saying that the government was putting the finishing touches on the first creative arts senior high school, which is now under construction in Kwadaso, in the Ashanti region.
"We will follow the numerous government policies in education in 2023. Education in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics will improve. To open the Creative Arts Senior High School in Kwadaso, Kumasi, we are making preparations.
Additionally, this year will also see the implementation of our communities of excellence program, which transforms schools in our cities and villages.
The National Education Leadership Institute will begin operations in 2023 with the goal of developing leaders for the 21st century in educational institutions. Therefore, it will be a thrilling year for both the nation as a whole and those of us in education.
