Zambian: A Man chooses Beer over Marriage in Court

In court, a Man from Zambia stated that, given the choice, he would sooner end his marriage than quit drinking beer.

The decision was made at Livingstone Local Court in Zambia when 49-year-old Allan Kawewa was facing legal action due to his drinking habits and was given the choice between getting a divorce or drinking beer.

The Zambia Daily Mail claims that Kawewa's decision to choose beer above his marriage without hesitation left the courtroom and his wife in admiration.

Kawewa stated that he still loved his 47-year-old wife and did not want a divorce, but he was unable to stop drinking and preferred to end his marriage to doing so. Despite the deadline, he acknowledged that he would obviously be lost without his wife and was not looking forward to getting a divorce. Nevertheless, he still needed to express his priorities.

He pleaded with God to "forgive me, please, and let things return to how they were when we first met. I still care for you.

Locals voiced their sentiments on social media in the wake of the decision. Mubiwa Mumbowe Simakumba, a pundit, said: "That's inhuman. How do you instruct someone to pick beer above other options? No comparisons should be made between beer and anything else.

We live in a generation when some individuals find delight in issues, while others find joy in problems, according to social media user Emmalex Meki Ubuteko, who explained the paradox.

On the social media page of the neighborhood newspaper, Aaron Chilambwe insisted that Kawewa was a "gentleman," referred to "the joy and togetherness" that "beer brings amongst us," and claimed that it was obvious that he had conducted a "cost-benefit analysis," adding that "Allan is a legend when it comes to choosing what is more profitable."
