UEW Student Adjudged Overall Winner of GESS Awards

 


Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Otoo, a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Art Education student at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been adudged the overall winner of an international competition held by the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) in partnership with the Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates.

At a ceremony held in Dubai, Mr. Otoo was named the overall recipient of the renowned "Lifetime Achievement Award."

An unbiased jury of judges from the educational industry selects the winner from among the top finalists from more than 50 Countries Outside of their particular academic or professional sector, this nominee must have made the biggest overall contribution to education in their communities. The judges take into account each nominee's unique accomplishments, sphere of impact, and qualities that set them apart from other nominees in the field of education. 

Despite being invited and shortlisted for the Community Award in the Citizenship category, Mr. Otoo, who is also a tutor at the Winneba Secondary School, was successful in winning the "Lifetime Achievement in Education Award." Prior to winning this prestigious award, Mr. Otoo had been adjudged the National Best Teacher in Ghana or Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher for the year 2021. The National Best Teacher's Award space in Ghana has been dominated by products of UEW over the years. In the 2022 edition of Ghana's Best Teacher's Award, Ms. Stella Gyimah Larbi, a product of UEW, emerged as Ghana's most outstanding teacher.
