Do you trust your religion In times of need, can your pastor and elders assist you? In the Church, do we genuinely worship God, or are we merely following the leaders?
A young man has described how a pastor and his elders treated him in a disrespectful and nasty manner.

"One day I asked a church leader for assistance. In his sermon earlier that evening, he advised the youth to be bold in approaching the elders and asking for opportunities. I went to this elder to tell him that I need a job so that I can use my meager stipends to aid my steps. This man failed to remember that he advocated asking them for jobs, assistance, and anything else that could smooth our journeys to God. No one in the church can help you, so go and pray, pay your tithes, and give offerings, this man said. I don't have any help for you, I can't assist you, and I also need to help myself.
Another elder was consulted because a colleague also needed assistance. He told the impoverished boy, "Can your lazy mother use the sales of banku to cater for you, I can't help with your fees." Some persons who are more spiritually inclined receive welfare money.
When I told the pastor about how the young people were leaving the church, he responded, "Let them go; they'll come back when they grow; after all, we can't help them financially, but we teach them how to fish.
To me, it felt like a dream. I questioned, "Ah, is not the GOD that I and these leaders serve the same one? In Ghana, the church is a sizable Pentecostal congregation. I spent nearly 6 years walking with an elder who never felt the need to mold me, except to condemn me behind my back. One day I came to the conclusion that man cannot save humans; only GOD can. In order to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, I left church and stopped going. I took it seriously. I was trying to locate a specific verse that stated that "God formed a church or religion."
No scripture could be found. I began to rely on God and comprehend His instructions. I use them in my daily life. I understood that I was worshiping the church and people rather than God. My greatest breakthrough and support came from GOD through an ardent Buddhist who wasn't familiar with me.
The majority of assistance in life is given by strangers, not by family, friends, or people you are familiar with.
Today I could purchase instruments, contribute to the construction of the church auditorium, purchase chairs, or even support the church, but I won't. I was wandering the church when an elder stopped me and advised me to attempt to bring my tithe in order to help the church. Am I incorrect when I say that I can't?
I asked him, "Am I wrong? Your penny will never aid any elder, pastor, or church." Never will I do that. I'd rather aid the underprivileged in the zongos, go to the streets and pay my tithing there, help out my friends who are in need, pay for the poor's expenses, and distribute my riches to those who need it rather than the church. Most Christians have no need of the church, but many are too naive to realize that our bodies, not the church, are its true temple. Was I mistaken because, despite the fact that I'm no longer a member but a steadfast follower of Christ and HIS teachings, it appears like they are truly on my neck?
I treat them the same way the church treated me, and I'll never squander money on them instead of the poor and defenseless. Some Christians that I admired didn't support me. My fellow Christians turned me down when I needed them, but two atheists and a Buddhist came to my aid with unwavering affection.
