Ghana Education Service (GES) 2022/2023 Academic Calendar
The academic calendar for Basic Schools for the academic year 2022–2023 has been made public by Ghana Education Service (GES).
Ahead of the upcoming academic year, the 2022–2023 academic calendar for Nursery, Kindergarten (KG), Basic 1–6 and Junior High School (JHS) has been made public.
Number of Weeks
According to the calendar, the following academic year, 2023, will have thirty-six (36) weeks allocated for each of the three (3) Basic Education levels (Nursery, Kindergarten/KG, Basic 1 - 6, and JHS).
The calendar period each term into 12 contact weeks for each level (Nursery, Kindergarten/KG, Basic 1 – 6, and JHS).
The first term- 2022/2023 Academic Year
For all levels (Nursery, Kindergarten/KG, Basic 1 - 6, and JHS), the first term will start on January 9 and end on March 31, 2023.
The Second term-2022/2023 Academic Year
The second term for Nursery, Kindergarten/KG, Basic 1 through 6, and JHS will start on April 10 and end on June 28, 2023.
The third term- 2022/2023 Academic Year
For all Basic Schools in the nation, the third term will start on July 10 and end on September 28, 2023.
VACATIONS
The first term vacation is scheduled to last for 10 days, beginning on March 31 and ending on April 10, 2023. The 13-day second term vacation will last from June 28th to July 10th, 2023.
