The artist was discovered unconscious in a car on Tuesday, December 27 in the United States, according to the streaming site TIDAL.
According to South Florida radio station WZPP, Joseph, the grandson of reggae musician Bob Marley, had asthma his entire life and passed away following an asthma attack.
Reggae musician Joseph, a Jamaican-American, made his debut in 2014 by releasing an EP titled "Comfortable" via iTunes and Spotify.
He also appeared on the Grammy-winning album Strictly Roots by Morgan Heritage.
Tidal just posted to Twitter honoring the late artist.
The post read: "Forever in our hearts. RIP Jo Mersa Marley."
The official autopsy results for Joseph's death have not yet been revealed.
