The country's largest telecom provider, MTN Ghana, has announced that all of its data bundle prices will increase on November 14, 2022.
The following was stated in a message delivered through SMS to all Dear Costomers:
Please be advised that data bundle pricing will increase as of November 14, 2022. Enjoy a 50% bonus when purchasing a bundle (4G only), and keep in mind that MTN Data bundles never expire. Visit www.mtn.com.gh for more information. Thank You.
This happens at a time when fuel and food costs are increasing, the Cedi is in free decline, and Ghanaians are experiencing great economic hardship.
Why MTN, the dominant participant in the industry, is raising data pricing at this time is unclear.
