A mother who abandoned her two-week-old child in a public toilet arrest by the Gomoa Dominase District Police Command.
The mother, Maria Bakusu, 26 Years carried out the crime on Tuesday in the Central Region's Gomoa Potsin.
However, a resident named Joseph Mensah who is thought to have visited the institution shortly after the crime saved the infant and sent it to the Potsin Polyclinic for medical assistance.
On Wednesday morning, Maria was taken into custody by the Command, under the direction of DSP David Osei Fofie.
Residents who noticed the suspect, a chop bar employee, wasn't with her infant provided a tip, which led to the arrest.
She admitted during questioning that she had gone to bury the infant after discovering his death after she had woken up.
The police officers requested her to bring them to the cemetery because they weren't persuaded by her explanation, but she eventually admitted that she had dropped the baby in the toilet.
Maria used the ongoing financial crisis as justification for her behavior.
The Kasoa Divisional DOVVSU will now handle the matter, among other things.
