Hamza Amadu, the municipal chief executive for Bawku, is pleading with the locals to clear the way for the municipality's return to peace. Since there has been a protracted chieftaincy Conflict, Bawku has not experienced peace.

The dispute over who is the true heir to the Bawku kingdom has pitted the Kusasis and Mamprusis against one another.
In light of this, Mr. Amadu fervently pleaded with the two tribes to for peace to return to Bawku.
I ask the Mamprusis and Kusasi to make way for peace in Bawku in the name of Allah. I'm sitting here feeling very sad and angry over what's occurring in Bawku. We keep losing young men in Bawku, which is quite tragic. They must make sure they reside together. Therefore, they should just allow for the establishment of peace so that we, the government, can provide for their basic needs.
