On the Accra-Kumasi Highway, a deadly accident has been reported to have killed three people close to Fumesua in the Ashanti Region.
A gas tanker and a VIP bus headed from Asante Mampong to Accra were involved in the accident on Wednesday about 12:15 am.
Adakabre Frimpong Manso, the general manager of VIP, acknowledged the incident on Adom FM.
He added that two people passed away immediately, with the third death being reported later.
The gas tanker was on its way to empty its cargo at the Sonic gas station when it crossed over into the path of the VIP bus, according to Mr. Manso.
The VIP bus driver attempted to move to the left for protection after spotting danger, but instead he plowed into a concrete sidewalk.
As a result, the back of the tanker was struck by the side of the VIP bus, killing one person and injuring many more.
He pointed out that the injured were sent to the Ejisu Government Hospital for treatment thanks to the help of the emergency services, including the police, ambulance, and fire department.
Others were transported to Accra for for medical care.
